TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State?sophomore safety Derwin James will miss five to seven weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said Tuesday.On Monday, James had the surgery and Fisher said an accurate timetable wouldnt be available until after doctors performed the operation.He has a torn cartilage in his knee, Fisher said Monday. He does not have any ACL [injury] or any structural damage whatsoever.The timetable means James will miss the second-ranked Seminoles ACC opener against Louisville this week as well as games against USF, North Carolina, Miami and possibly Clemson.Well do whatever is best for him., Fisher said Monday.The 6-foot-3, 211-pound James, regarded as one of the countrys top defensive backs, suffered the injury in the third quarter of Saturdays 52-8 win over Charleston Southern.
