SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- A few days ago, I rewatched the broadcast of the 2005 PGA Championship at Baltusrol to see if I could glean any information that would prove useful for this years edition of the event. The lasting impression? Man, 11 years ago looked and felt like 21 years ago. Maybe 31.Phil Mickelson won that week, which isnt so detached from current affairs, considering hes only two weeks removed from nearly winning another major. He was followed on that leaderboard, though, by Steve Elkington, Thomas Bjorn, Davis Love III and some guy with a great swing named Tiger Woods, whose late charge on Sunday afternoon proved fruitless when Lefty salted it away the next morning. All of which means that 11 years from now, this week will feel pretty ancient, too.Besides the low-def broadcast and way-too-baggy shirts, what I remembered when watching it again is that Baltusrol is an equal-opportunity venue. Like so many of the great Northeast courses, it doesnt necessarily favor long bombers or accurate drivers or deft wedge players (although, long and straight off the tee with plenty of holed putts would probably work). Anyone who wishes to contend this week will need to incorporate some combination of each of these within his game. From a pure golf standpoint, thats exactly what you want from a tournament course. It doesnt eliminate half of the field before they ever tee off Thursday morning. From a DFS standpoint, though, it makes this week one of the most difficult majors to analyze and predict in recent memory.Nobody is entering the years final major playing a torrid stretch of golf. Nobody owns such history at this venue that it offers an advantage. Nobody has asserted himself as a prohibitive favorite.Throw in the fact that nobody really seems to have a game thats tailor-made for this track -- because no singular game suits this place -- and it becomes a guessing game for those trying to fill their lineups with appropriate selections.Of course, educated guesses are (sometimes) better than plain old guesses. So, lets get right to them. Scarpe Scontate Nike . - Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie never doubted he would bring back coach Dennis Allen for a third year despite back-to-back 4-12 records. Detroit and Boston are deadlocked, 1-1, and Tigers manager Jim Leyland could be forgiven if he was caught rationalizing instead of dissecting how his club could blow a 5-1 lead late in Game 2. http://www.scontatescarpe.it/ . Inter president Erick Thohir says in a club statement on Wednesday that Vidic is "one of the worlds best defenders and his qualities, international pedigree, and charisma will be an asset. Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC failed to make the postseason while Montreal Impact fell at the first hurdle losing heavily to Houston Dynamo in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round. VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Alec Peters poured in 36 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Valparaiso came from behind in the second half to beat NAIA-Trinity Christian College, 89-75 for its second straight win to open the season Saturday night. The Trolls used a fast start to take an early lead. Ben Brinks layup midway through the first half gave Trinity a 28-12 lead and held a 10-point advantage at intermission, 45-35.But the Crusaders came on strong in the second half. Shane Hamminks laayup three minutes into the half cut the lead to 45-41 and Max Josephs 3-pointer with 15:12 to play gave Valparaiso the lead, 50-48.dddddddddddd After Hamminks dunk made it 52-50, Valparaiso never trailed again.Peters hit 14 of his 29 shots from the floor and knocked down 3 of 11 shots from beyond the arc.Juozas Balciunas had 19 points to lead Trinity.
