WINNIPEG -- Canadian Interuniversity Sport female athlete of the year Shanice Marcelle will headline the womens national volleyball team roster this season. The outside hitter from Victoria was on the 24-member squad unveiled Tuesday by Volleyball Canada. Marcelle won national titles in all five years she played for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. The Canadian team will compete at three international events over the next few months. They include the June 8-17 Pan Am Cup in Lima, Peru, the July 6-16 World University Games in Kazan, Russia, and the Sept. 14-22 NORCECA (North and Central America and Caribbean) Championships in Omaha, Neb.
